Learn languages through your sentences

Define what you want to say. Translate it. Build mnemonics. Export to Anki. Practice in-app. The Language Island way.

Why Mnemli?

Generic phrasebooks teach you what someone else decided you need. Real fluency comes from saying your life—your job, your hobbies, your introductions—in the target language.

Mnemli uses the Language Island technique: you write sentences in your native language (e.g. English) for a topic you care about—ordering at a restaurant, introducing yourself, talking about work—then we translate them and help you extract vocabulary and attach mnemonics so words stick. You learn the words that matter to you, in context, with memory hooks that last.

How it works

  1. 1
Add a target language (e.g. Korean) and create an Island—a topic like “Introducing myself” or “Ordering food”.
  2. 2
Write sentences in your native language—exactly what you want to be able to say. Use in-app translation to get the target-language version.
  3. 3
Extract words and phrases from those sentences. Add a translation and a mnemonic for each (optionally with AI suggestions). Export words only to Anki—front: English, back: translation + mnemonic.
  4. 4
Review sentences in Mnemli—rate how well you did (Again / Hard / Good / Easy). Sentences you struggle with move to the top so you focus where it matters.

Anki stays for vocabulary and mnemonics; sentence practice lives in the app with smart, worst-first ordering.
